Lillie's Southside Virtual Kids' Club aquarium-making activity
Lillie explains how to make an aquarium and teaches you how to sing 'A sailor went to sea'. Join the fun!
You will need:
- Cereal box
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Tape
- String
- Pipe cleaners / straws
- Paint / pens
- Googly eyes, pebbles, shells, sand

Step 1
Cut out the front of your box. You might need help with this from a grown up, paint or colour in the outside of your box grey and the inside blue.

Step 2
Add some pebbles from the garden to the bottom. If you don’t have any pebbles, colour in paper and cut out pebble shapes from this. Use pipe cleaners or straws to make seaweed, add some shells and sand if you have these, or make these shapes from paper, colour and stick into the bottom of the aquarium.

Step 3
Draw and cut out fish shapes. You might need help with this from a grown up. Colour them in if you don’t have different coloured paper. If you have googly eyes stick these on the fish, if not draw them on.

Step 4
Cut pieces of string and stick these onto the back of the fish shapes using tape.

Step 5
When you have stuck the fish shapes to the string, stick the string to the top of the cereal box. Stick as many fish as you like to your aquarium.
