These events are exclusively for our Kids' Club members so if you're not a member yet you can sign up here.

Price: This event is free of charge, however, donations are encouraged and every penny collected will be going to Barnardo's children's charity.

8 brilliant ways to spend the bank holiday

Our guide to making the most of the long weekend...

Get lost in a good book

It’s not often that we have time to properly bury ourselves in a good book – so make the most of the bank holiday weekend by doing exactly that. If you’re looking for an instantly gripping read, we recommend heading to Waterstones and seeking out Sally Rooney’s best-selling 'Conversations with Friends', Kate Atkinson’s 'Transcription' or the fascinating 'The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (and Your Children Will Be Glad That You Did)' by psychotherapist Philippa Perry.

Make a family photo album

Despite the ease of technology, it’s so easy to forget to actually print out the photographs we take. The bank holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity to print your favourite photographs from recent holidays, birthday parties and everyday moments and get them stuck into a photo album to remember some of your happiest memories. Head to Snappy Snaps to get started.

Get yourself a beauty treatment

Schedule in some me-time by booking an appointment at Smart Look Beauty. Whether you fancy a refresh of your gel polish or a full body aromatherapy massage, you’ll walk out feeling totally revitalised.

Book that much-needed holiday

There’s nothing like having some extra time off work to make you think… “I could do with more of this!” In which case, why not pop into Thomas Cook get help booking your next trip? The 9-5 is always so much more enjoyable when you know there’s a holiday on the horizon to look forward to.

Spruce up your greenery

Whether you have a garden, a balcony or a full indoor plant collection, now is the perfect time to get your greenery in order ahead of the summer. For seeds, soil and garden supplies pop into Robert Dyas, while Oliver Bonas always delivers when it comes to beautiful ceramic plant pots and stands.

Make time for friends and food

Dying to catch up with friends? Book in a long lunch with your best mates over the bank holiday weekend. Looking for inspiration? Grab a booth and some all-American fare at the Chicago Rib Shack, a bowl of ramen at Wagamama or lunch like they do in Naples at Rossopomodoro - and make the most of their 2-4-1 cocktail offer which runs all day on Sundays.

Treat yourself… just because

We’re obsessed with the current line-up of acetate earrings and girlish hair clips available at Accessorize. Their design team has totally nailed the small accessories we love this spring. Buy yourself something that’ll have you stepping into the new work week with a buzz.

StreetCube: Sustainable dining

Street Cube is about good food that's cooked with passion and made using quality organic ingredients

Olivier Blanc

Olivier Blanc, son of chef Raymond Blanc, is partnering with chef Pascal Gerrard to launch a ‘revolutionary’ sustainability-focused street dining concept - StreetCube. StreetCube aims to serve the best in sustainable ‘food-to-go’ while being committed to reducing CO2 levels, eliminating plastic waste, and developing a better food system that’s both regenerative, sustainable and healthier for people and planet. The brand's ethos is based around sustainability, with produce to be sourced from within a 100-mile radius of the kitchens.

Street Cube uses upcycled shipping containers to create semi-permanent street kitchens, offering opportunities to chefs who are not able to raise the capital needed to set up their own high street location. The high start-up costs needed to set up a restaurant is out of reach for many young chefs and what Blanc and Gerrard want to do with StreetCube is to reduce that gap by providing these chefs with space from which they can cook the food they want.

The StreetCube at Southside is located on the piazza, just next to TK Maxx and are occupied by award-winning Moroccan Street Food vendors ‘The Hungry Bedouin’ and Indian vegan soul-food collective Amrutha Lounge. Find out more about them below!

Vegan soul food specialist Amrutha Lounge

Innovative vegan dishes and heart-warming classics are lovingly prepared on the premises a chef on a daily basis. The food is made from scratch with an emphasis on taking simple ingredients and elevating them to extraordinary levels, that’s the version of ‘Vegan Soul Food’.

Amrutha Lounge aims to work with local suppliers and small businesses whenever possible, the food caters to everyone’s tastes, needs, and pockets.

The best Moroccan food this side of Marrakech: The Hungry Bedouin

The Hungry Bedouin was set up by two lovers of Moroccan food that met while travelling through the Atlas mountains. While sitting under the Saharan stars, with full bellies having enjoyed the most delicious, saffron spiked tagine ever, they decided that these exotic flavours needed to be shared on the streets of London. Come find the best Moroccan food this side of Marrakech at StreetCube.
